The day will consist of

1. Display Screen Equipment (DSE)Workshop
To ensure you comply with the Health and Safety DSE regulation 1993 which states every employee must have a DSE Workstation Assessment. This workshop will cover:
• How to carry out a DSE Assessment
• How to make adjustments to suit individual needs
• Dealing with Repetitive Strain Injury or Upper limb disorders caused by bad posture or poorly positioned DSE units.
• How to reduce stress in DSE work?
• Can work with DSE’s affect eyesight?
• Can DSE work cause headaches?

2. General Risk Assessment Workshop
On Friday 16th January the Health and Safety Offences Act 2008 came into force? This act means that you could be imprisoned and / or fined up to £20,000 or even be tried in the High Court if you do not have correct assessments in place. This workshop will cover:
• How to carry out a risk assessment
• Identifying risk and hazard
• The difference between personal and practical risk assessment
• Implementing the five step plan
• Practical experience exercises
